Pilates is both strength and flexibility training, which are two out of the three pieces of the fitness equation. The emphasis in pilates is placed on the abdominals and related core muscles to help support proper posture and alignment during the workout.
We strive in every workout to exercise the entire body, paying close attention to proper placement and alignment. We strive to challenge each person at their own level, and tailor the workouts to the individual. Group classes are kept small so that everyone receives personal attention.
Pilates can be done by just about anyone- from the injured, out-of-shape, or older population, to the elite athlete. It is a great way to become and stay fit on its own, but also can be used in any fitness program to enhance performance, rehabilitate injuries, and gain core and general body strength and flexibility.
